Cherley began classical voice training aged 14. She went to London to train in Italia Conti in 1992. Her vocal studies broadened to include varying styles. In 2006 she enrolled in a degree in Irish Music, Dance and Song at the University of Limerick. There she specialised in Sean-Nós singing (Irish Traditional Song) in both the Irish and English language and Sean Nós Dancing. After graduating with Honours in 2010, she then enrolled in a one year Masters in Music specialising in Songwriting at Bath Spa University, UK where she graduated from in 2011.
Previous professional singing work includes funerals, wedding ceremonies, live performances for parties and special occasions, along with studio backing vocalist recording.
